Birthday: Nov. 18, 1960.
Birthplace: I was born in Queens, N.Y., and raised in Brattleboro, Vt.
Occupation: Actress.
Current home: Los Angeles.
Marital status: Single.
Children: Hannah, 5.
Working on: I’m in “Cloned,” which airs Sept. 28 on NBC-TV, and “Rescuers: Stories of Courage–Two Women,” which airs Oct. 5 on Showtime. I also have
a movie coming out, “Lesser Prophets,” with Jimmy Smits.
The book I’ve been reading: “Apollo 13” by James Lovell, because I’m playing his wife, Marilyn, in a movie for HBO.
Prized possession: Photographs of my family that go back four generations. There are pictures from Greece where they’re wearing fezzes on their heads.
Personal heroes: Rosalind Russell, Ginger Rogers, Eve Arden and Jackie Kennedy.
People always think I’m: Elizabeth Montgomery.
I’ve never been able to: Sing.
I’m better than anyone else when it comes to: Listening.
If I could do it over, I’d: Become a writer instead of an actress. I love acting, but I hate being in the public eye, so there is always a conflict. I love to walk out on a stage or in front of a camera, but that’s the only part of it that I like. I hate premieres and having my picture taken. I’m very solitary.
My fantasy is: I weigh 200 pounds, live in Tuscany and I’m a world-renowned sculptress.
The worst advice my mother ever gave me: “Always have a five-year plan.” Nothing was ever spontaneous, because you were always worried about the future.
People who knew me in high school thought I was: Weird. I dressed in black, said I was going to Hollywood to be an actress and dated older guys.
If I’ve learned one thing in life it’s: Patience is wisdom.
Most humbling experience: The homeless always make me realize how fortunate I am.
The three words that best describe me: Emotional, loyal and driven.
