Robb DeMille Petty, 61, a retired Sears, Roebuck and Co. buyer and former journalism instructor, died Tuesday in Evanston Hospital. A resident of Lake Forest, Mr. Petty worked as a buyer for Sears in the textiles and home fashion departments for 34 years. After retiring in 1993, he began a consulting business. He also taught evening journalism classes at Northwestern University for many years. Survivors include his brother, Richard. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Monday in Scott Funeral Homes, 1100 Greenleaf Ave., Wilmette. Mass will be said at 10 a.m. Oct. 18 in St. Mary’s Church, 175 E. Illinois Rd., Lake Forest.
