S.D. “Dexter” Weldon, 86, a retired self-employed plumber, died Wednesday in his Lombard home. Born in Gibbs, Tenn., he was in the sewer and drainage plumbing business for 30 years, said his wife, Marie. A World War II Navy veteran who was stationed in Guam and on Saipan in the South Pacific, Mr. Weldon was wounded and received a Purple Heart. Other survivors include a son, James, and his two brothers. Visitation will be from 7:30 to 9 p.m. Thursday at Humes Funeral Home, 320 W. Lake St., Addison.
