Bradford J. Miller, 79, of Downers Grove, a vice president of operations for Harris Bank in downtown Chicago, died Saturday in Good Samaritan Hospital, Downers Grove. A native of Kansas City, Mo., Mr. Miller came to the Chicago area to attend Wheaton College. With World War II looming, Mr. Miller enlisted in the U.S. Army Air Corps but was later drafted into the Army, said his wife, Dorothy Miller. He was a lieutenant and served in Europe. After the service, he returned to Harris Bank, where he had had several temporary positions before the war and worked there in various capacities until his retirement in 1983. Mr. Miller never returned to complete his degree at Wheaton College, but he had the equivalent of a master’s degree with the courses he took while at Harris Bank. Mr. Miller’s only immediate survivor is his wife. Visitation will be from 9 to 10 a.m. Wednesday in Christ Church of Oak Brook, 31st Street and York Road, Oak Brook, with services following immediately.
