Former “Roseanne” star John Goodman is returning to his ABC roots on Oct. 21.
Goodman, who for nine seasons played Dan Connor on “Roseanne,” turns up in an episode of “Soul Man,” which, of course, stars his sometime “Blues Brothers” pal, Dan Aykroyd, as a widowed minister.
Goodman will play Capt. Stan Hamel, an old Air Force buddy who is wrestling with alcoholism and guilt following the death of a mutual friend.
It will mark Goodman’s first series appearance on his old network since the series finale of “Roseanne” in May.
Beside “Roseanne,” Goodman has spent a lot of time the past few years as a member of Aykroyd’s “Blues Brothers.”
– “Variety” reports that Tim Allen will be paid a whopping $1.25 million per episode to do an eighth season of “Home Improvement.”
