Nextlink Illinois Inc., a subsidiary of Nextlink Communications Inc., of Bellevue, Wash., has opened offices in Oak Brook and in the first quarter of 1998 will begin offering telecommunications services to small- and medium-size businesses. The company said it will introduce its services first in downtown Chicago, Elk Grove Village and Oak Brook and expects to employ more than 150 people. Nextlink Communications was started in 1994 by Craig McCaw, who founded McCaw Cellular and owns a controlling interest in Nextel Communications Inc., a mobile radio services company. He maintains the majority of Nextlink’s voting power.
