Robert Isadore David, 72, founder and head of R.I. David & Co., a Chicago advertising agency, died Thursday in the Alden-Lakeland Nursing Home. Despite little formal education, he established his own agency and many major accounts, including Bally-Midway, Ridell, Everco Industries, Washington National Insurance Co. and Z Frank Chevrolet. He later moved into the field of translation of promotional materials for a number of national accounts. He retired in 1992. Survivors include his wife, Lorraine; three sons, Donald, Martin and Barry; two daughters, Myrna David McDonald and Sheila Libfeld; a brother; eight grandchildren; and a great-granddaughter. Services will be held at 1 p.m. Sunday in Weinstein Family Services Wilmette Chapel, 111 Skokie Blvd., Wilmette.
