Your Sept. 29 article regarding state Supt. of Education Joseph Spagnolo mentioned that several university professors are earning up to $257,000 annually. Are these people the “trophy professors” schools use to improve school rankings, who are seldom if ever seen by an undergraduate in class (and also earn considerable additional income as “consultants”)?

The Tribune might want to look into this matter. I’m sure that every tuition-paying parent of an undergraduate saddled with English-impaired teaching assistants as well as taxpayers in general would be interested in this educational extravagance.
