Prized possession: A letter from my mother written from Dublin when she was vacationing there, and a cane that had belonged to my grandfather.
Personal hero: My father. Everywhere I looked, he was there. That was very important to me. I’m fortunate to have such a close family.
Favorite childhood memory: When I was about 6, I planted watermelon seeds and I was determined they’d grow. We went away for the weekend, and when we came back, there was a huge watermelon, placed, of course, by my father.
