The North Barrington Village Board voted unanimously Monday night to authorize a $500 reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons who vandalized more than 40 homes in and around the village on Oct. 17, 18 and 19.

People with information are asked to call the Lake County Sheriff’s Police.

The vandals knocked over mailboxes, damaged lights and Halloween decorations, and drove across lawns, said village Trustee Edmund Boland.

The vandalism was along Kimberly Road and in the Biltmore and Oaksbury areas, Boland said.

He said a Lake County Sheriff’s Police officer will be in North Barrington for an entire shift on Halloween night from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m., paying particular attention to any attempted acts of vandalism.

According to Trustee Edmund Boland, letters have been sent to residents about the reward and the request for information.
