The widower of a 33-year-old flight attendant killed in the crash of a corporate jet near Palwaukee Municipal Airport last year filed a lawsuit in Cook County Circuit Court Monday seeking compensation for a lifetime of marital union loss.
Craig Anderson, 33, had been married to his wife, Catherine, for 26 days prior to the Oct. 30 crash, which occurred shortly after takeoff, the lawsuit said. Three others also were killed in the crash.
The suit alleges that the flight crew did not properly manage the Gulfstream IV airplane for takeoff in the windy conditions present, in part because the airport did not provide them proper instructions.
The suit seeks damages from the AON Corp., which chartered the flight; the Alberto-Culver Co., which owned the plane, and the Village of Wheeling, the City of Prospect Heights and the Palwaukee Airport Commission, all of which owned and operated the Palwaukee Airport. No specific financial amount was stated in the damages claim.
