Dear Tom,

Will you be adding snow information to the weather page this winter?

Dennis Haller, Plainfield, IL

Dear Dennis,

Today we are inaugurating several changes in the Weather Page, among which is the addition of snowfall data from O’Hare International Airport and Midway Airport, the latter provided by weather observer Frank Wachowski. Sunburn and pollen count data are seasonal in nature and will be discontinued until the spring.

Lake Michigan water temperatures at Chicago will be continued, but the boaters’ forecast is discontinued until spring. A new map will appear, highlighting minimum temperatures across the eastern U.S.

We are also introducing a permanent change: the addition of daily national temperature extremes. Many readers of the Weather Page have requested this information, and we are happy to comply.
