Joseph A. “Jack” Lawler Jr., 71, co-founder and past president of Blue M. Electric Co. in Blue Island, died Wednesday in his winter home in Ft. Myers, Fla. In 1946, Mr. Lawler co-founded Blue M. Electric Co, which manufactures temperature-controlled equipment. He retired in 1988. He also designed and patented many of the company’s products. Mr. Lawler was in the Navy in World War II. Survivors include his wife, May; four sons, Steven, Daniel, Richard and John; a daughter, Jamie; a sister, Mary; and eight grandchildren. Visitation will be from 2 to 9 p.m. Sunday in Tews Funeral Home, 18230 S. Dixie Highway, Homewood. Services will be held at 10 a.m. Monday in the Episcopal Church of St. John the Evangelist, Park Drive and Leavitt Avenue, Flossmoor.
