The Jaguars (7-4) kept Eddie George in check and got an efficient game from Mark Brunell in winning their 12th straight home game.
Brunell was 22 of 30 for 267 yards and one touchdown, but the injury-riddled defense stole the show. George went over 1,000 yards for the season, but he was held to 49 yards on 18 carries before leaving in the fourth quarter with a slight concussion.
The Oilers (5-6) were just 3 of 12 on third downs.
Tennessee’s only touchdown came on a reverse pass from receiver Willie Davis to tight end Frank Wycheck for 22 yards early in the fourth quarter that cut the lead to 14-9. The Oilers went for the two-point conversion but defensive tackle Renaldo Wynn stopped Rodney Thomas at the goal line.
