A woman who initially refused a police request to move her car Monday was charged with reckless driving, fleeing and resisting arrest, and battery to a police officer. Police said Laura Nuccio, 22, of 9332 Hunter Drive, Orland Hills, refused numerous requests to move her car from a fire lane at the Wal-Mart store at 9265 159th St. After police asked for identification, she drove off erratically, nearly striking some pedestrians, police said. She refused to stop for pursuing police cars and almost struck two police vehicles, police said. After she was cornered in a parking lot a half-mile south, police said, she tried to flee but was apprehended and subdued after kicking officers. She was released on bond and given a Jan. 8 court date.
