Deere & Co. reported fiscal fourth-quarter net earnings of $211.3 million, or 84 cents per share, up 21 percent from $173.9 million, or 68 cents per share, a year earlier. The Moline-based manufacturer of heavy equipment said revenues for the quarter, which ended Oct. 31, increased 18 percent, to $3.44 billion to $2.92 billion. Deere credited the increases to strong worldwide demand.

For the fiscal year, Deere said net income rose 17 percent, to $960.1 million, or $3.78 per share, from $817.3 million, or $3.14 per share, the previous year, when more shares were outstanding. Revenues increased 14 percent, to $12.8 billion from $11.2 billion.
