James D. Evens, 53, a longtime resident of Mt. Prospect, died Sunday at the Bethany Terrace Nursing Home in Morton Grove. Born in Chicago, Mr. Evens was an insurance agent for State Farm Insurance Co. He was a former grand knight of the Knights of Columbus and a member of St. Emily’s Ushers Club. Survivors include his wife, Janet; two sons, Jeffrey and James; a daughter, Jacqueline D’Amico; and a grandson. Prayers will be said at 9:30 a.m. Wednesday in Matz Funeral Home, 410 E. Rand Rd., Mt. Prospect, to be followed by a 10 a.m. mass at St. Emily Catholic Church, 1400 E. Central Rd., Mt. Prospect.
