A Dec. 1 Page 1 story makes a frightening assumption regarding tax cuts: “The package offers a tax break just for having children, which should cost the government $85 billion over the next five years. . . .”
Since when do taxpayer earnings belong to the government? You are propagating a myth that it is the government’s money and implying that they have been generous in allowing us to keep some of it through a tax credit. Remember that it’s our money, which they take too much of in the first place.
