The village has $225,000 in grants funds available to residents who want to rehab their homes.

The program allows residents to apply for no-interest loans that can be used to bring homes up to code. Eligible projects include electrical work and installing windows.

“It can’t be a cosmetic (improvement) or things like additions, unless it is for a code violation,” said Scott Buening, community development director.

Loans are usually a maximum of $30,000 per home, and residents must meet income guidelines. For information, call 630-257-1595.
