What would the holidays be without some Tchaikovsky? Two area productions of that holiday favorite, “The Nutcracker,” are scheduled for this weekend. The Schaumburg production includes members of Ballet Theatre of Chicago, Gus Giordano Jazz Dance Chicago, the Jan Erkert Group and more than 100 student dancers. Tickets are still available for the 8 p.m. Saturday performance at the Prairie Center for the Arts, 201 Schaumburg Ct. Call 847-895-3600. In Woodstock, Judith Svalander Dance Theater will perform “The Nutcracker” at 8 p.m. starting Friday and continuing through Dec. 21 at the Woodstock Opera House, 121 Van Buren St. Call 815-338-5300.
