Teachers in Salt Creek Elementary School District 48 will receive pay raises over the next three years in a new contract.
Salaries will increase 4.5 percent in the first year, 4.6 percent in the second and 4.7 percent in the third.
The former pay scale ranged from $29,937 for a beginning teacher with a bachelor’s degree to $68,555 for a teacher with a master’s degree, 36 additional hours of college credit and 19 years of experience. Under the new pact, the minimum and maximum salaries will be $30,685 and $72,417 in the first year, $31,483 and $74,300 in the second and $32,349 and $76,343 in the third.
District 48 has 655 pupils and 62 teachers in three schools in Villa Park, Oakbrook Terrace and Elmhurst.
