Is there someone dear to you who is struggling with a serious illness?
Barbara Dennett has created a gift especially for those undergoing cancer treatment, designed to let them know you care, as well as supply some practical comfort and support.
Dennett, a skin cancer survivor and owner of the Women’s Health Boutique, a Dallas store dedicated to serving women coping with difficult health problems, has created the “Ewe Are Special” basket. It includes a soft stuffed lamb named Faith, a turban or baseball cap, special skin-care products and a copy of “Chemotherapy Gives New Meaning to a Bad Hair Day” (On A Shoestring, $19.95), by Eileen Marin.
The baskets can by customized for those with illnesses other than cancer, says Dennett, who collaborated with author Marin, and Amy Kuelbs, who founded the Faith Cancer Foundation for her friend, Faith Henderson, the lamb’s namesake.
The boutique was founded by sisters Vicki Dortch Jones and Seleta Dortch Lovell, in honor of their mother who died of breast cancer. It offers products and services in a supportive environment.
“Ewe Are Special” baskets can be shipped anywhere in the United States within 36 hours for $75, with $10 of the cost going to a charity designated by the purchaser. Additional shipping charges are required for orders outside the U.S. Call 888-232-1955.
