The Woodstock public library will improve its literacy and English-as-a-second-language programs with an $800 donation from EVEREN Securities.
The company’s Barrington office made donations on Dec. 17 to Barrington, Palatine and Woodstock libraries as part of EVEREN Securities’ annual Community Commitment Day.
“It’s a real investment in people’s futures,” notes Julie Fee, Adult Services librarian in Woodstock. She said the money would be spent on training literacy volunteers through McHenry County College and acquisition of related materials.
Volunteers need not speak a foreign language, and may call 815-338-0542 for more information.
