By the age of 10 he was a performing magician, and at 16 he was teaching magic at New York University. He is David Copperfield, the first of this week’s “Show Stoppers” featured at 7 p.m. on A&E. Copperfield, one of the highest paid entertainers in the world, was born in 1956 in New Jersey. Twenty-one years later he got his first television special.
