Not to be pushy… but, as promised on Page 1, we’ll give you a helpful nudge to get you started writing your holiday thank-you notes.
Your future card is at right. Make as many photocopies as you want, then get out your markers and color our doodles. If you want, add other fancy touches with stamps and stickers.
Then it’s time to write. We placed a few sample sentences on the far right side of the page, along with possible fill-in-the-blank words and phrases. Use them for inspiration. But don’t just copy what we wrote; come up with some stuff of your own. We even stuck in a few joke words to keep you on your toes, thank you very much.
When you’re done with each card, glue paper on the back (stationery or colored construction paper is good) and add more decorations. Then fold the card in half and deliver it. People will be so thankful! (Hmmm. Does that mean they should write a thank-you note for your thank-you note?)
1
For starters, pick a greeting:
We have some suggestions…
Dear, —————-
Hey, —————-
Yo!
2
Then, just come out and say thanks:
Thanks for the —————- gift.

awesome
delicious
fun
expensive
scary
3
Go into a little detail to show you care:
I can’t wait to —————-
(Grab a verb and a few other words,or think of your own.)
play with it
eat it
wear it
show it off
return it (we’re joking)
4
And a compliment never hurts:

(Pick another adjective)

5
And best wishes are sweet:
I hope you enjoy your—————-.

winter break
presents
fruitcake
nap
(Hey, you know ’em better than we do!)
6
And why not extend a kindness yourself?
Please come visit when you have————
(Go for a noun and some words that modify it)
the time
more presents
some new jokes
the need to be around someone who thinks you’re great! (You get the idea.)
7
Then wrap things up:
Sincerely,
Take care,
Love,
Best wishes,
You really shouldn’t have,
See ya,
Later gator,
XX0X00XX,
Don’t forget to sign your name so they know who went to all this trouble!
