The Waukegan School District 60 Board of Education is accepting applications from district residents interested in filling a vacancy on the board.
The vacancy was created by the recent resignation of two-term board member Charles Willms, who left the board to concentrate on a new position as a member of the Waukegan Township Board of Trustees.
To be considered for the position, interested residents must fill out a questionnaire and return it with a letter of introduction to the district’s administrative headquarters no later than noon Feb. 13.
Letters of introduction should include the candidate’s professional background and qualifications for the position and details on any school or community activities that may be relevant. Finalists will be interviewed by the board.
The board is expected to appoint a replacement by the end of February. The term runs until the next regular board election in November 1999.
Questionnaires may be picked up at Lincoln Center, 1201 N. Sheridan Rd. For more information contact Lynn Pekoe at 847-360-5400.
