Ethel E. Fruin, 92, whose career as a commercial loan officer at National Bank of Commerce and at Citizens Bank on Chicago’s West Side spanned 40 years, died Sunday at her home on Chicago’s Far Northwest Side. Mrs. Fruin began her bank work in Chicago in the early 1940s. “She retired twice, in 1970 and again in the mid-1980s,” said her son, James Fruin. “But each time Citizens Bank called her back, sending taxis to pick her up and take her home.” Other survivors include a daughter, Ruth Clancy; two sisters; a brother; nine grandchildren; and 18 great-grandchildren. Visitation will be from 3 to 9 p.m. Tuesday in M.J. Suerth Funeral Home, 6754 N. Northwest Hwy., Chicago. Mass will be said at 10 a.m. Wednesday in Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, 7211 W. Talcott Ave., Chicago.
