A divided City Council will decide Monday whether to transfer more than $300,000 in Westgate development impact fees from the city’s Water and Sewer Department to School District 128.

At a recent council meeting, council member Jim Murphy proposed a change in the annexation agreement between the city and Westgate Signature Development LLC, which is building 860 housing units on 191 acres surrounding 135th Street and Ridgeland Avenue and seeking to have the property annexed by the city.

Murphy proposed taking the $327,000 that is to be paid by Westgate in impact fees for tapping on to the city’s water and sewer lines and giving that money to School District 128.
