The Keeneyville School District Board was told Thursday night about some of the projects that faculty members and students will take on during a summer academy program that will be launched this year.
Among those projects are the study of prairie development, waste management, and camp and restaurant operations, said Marilyn Halliday, the district’s curriculum director.
Also during the board meeting, the panel began discussions on the profile of the “ideal graduate.”
“We wanted to share with board members a copy of the draft of our profile of the ideal District 20 graduate,” said Supt. Anthony Przeklasa.
That profile was prepared at a recent planning session.
Przeklasa also said 29 teachers this weekend will complete the last of three five-hour training sessions in problem-based learning in preparation for the student summer academy, which is to begin July 6. The academy will be held three days a week for a total of 15 days.
