Frank J. Cecil, 77, a resident of Roselle and a retired accountant with Texaco Oil Co. in Chicago, died Tuesday in Holy Family Health Care Center in Des Plaines. Born in Chicago, Mr. Cecil served as a cryptographer in the 8th Army Air Force in England during World War II. After the war, Mr. Cecil returned to Chicago and attended night school to study accounting. He worked as an accounting clerk for Texaco for 32 years and was transferred to the company’s Atlanta office in 1970. He retired in 1983 and divided his time between Atlanta and Florida. In 1993 he moved to Roselle. “He taught us all how to fish and coached us in baseball,” recalled his son Rev. Patrick Cecil. Other survivors include his wife, Jane; two sons, James and William; two daughters, Janice and Diane; two brothers, Robert and George; a sister, Margaret Petsch; and four grandchildren. Visitation will be from 3 to 9 p.m. Thursday in Friedrichs Funeral Home, 320 W. Central Rd., Mt. Prospect, and at 10 a.m. Friday until mass at 11:30 a.m. in St. Patrick Catholic Church, 15000 Wadsworth Rd., Wadsworth.
