Sam Vittore, 93, a resident of Mt. Prospect for 15 years, died Sunday in Brighton Gardens in Prospect Heights. He was born in Plaquemine, La. Mr. Vittore was 4 years old when he and his family moved to Italy. Mr. Vittore later returned to Chicago and began working as a machinist for Crane Co. in Chicago. He retired in the mid-1950s so he could manage an apartment building he owned in Chicago. He is survived by two sons, Nicholas and Ross; a daughter, Kathleen Christian; two brothers; four sisters; 11 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. Prayers will be said at 8:45 a.m. Tuesday in Glueckert Funeral Home Ltd., 1520 N. Arlington Heights Rd., Arlington Heights. A 9:30 a.m. mass will follow in Our Lady of the Wayside Catholic Church, 432 W. Park St., Arlington Heights.
