A 47-year-old local woman was charged Monday with domestic battery following an incident with her 15-year-old son, police said. Charged was Marguerite Harkness, 1408 Millcreek Rd., authorities said. The youth told police he suffered minor bruises after his mother grabbed him around the throat, slammed him against a wall and attempted to throw him down a flight of stairs, according to a report. Harkeness allegedly admitted to grabbing the boy around the neck during an argument that ensued after a disagreement about the teen’s taking a job at an area record store, police said.
