Bernice D. Wolf, 82, of Arlington Heights, died Wednesday in Good Shepherd Hospital in Barrington. Ms. Wolf was a retired seamstress who worked 50 years for the former Strand Dress Co. in Barrington and McHenry. Ms. Wolf also worked for Bonn Manufacturing Co., a maker of ironing board covers and laundry bags that formerly was based in Arlington Heights. “She was like a mother to her sister’s children after their father died when they were young,” said Rev. Gerald Reinke, pastor at St. Peter Lutheran Church, Arlington Heights. “She was a lovely lady. We’ll miss her very much.” “She was a loving, caring person,” said her sister Esther Bozee, whose children Ms. Wolf helped raise. Survivors include another sister, Ruth Buchholz. Visitation will be held from 9:30 a.m. until services at 10 a.m. Saturday in St. Peter Lutheran Church, 111 W. Olive St., Arlington Heights.
