Jack B. Gomberg, 83, a retired Evanston dentist, died Monday in Lutheran General Hospital in Park Ridge. Mr. Gomberg, of Northbrook, graduated from Loyola Dental School in 1933. When he graduated at age 20, he was the youngest graduate ever from that dental school. His most recent dental office was at 1901 Church St. in Evanston, where he worked from 1964 until retiring in 1984. He served as a first lieutenant in the Army in World War II. “He was a very caring, thoughtful person who loved to be with his family,” said his son, Gerald. “He was very proud of whatever his children and grandchildren accomplished.” Other survivors include his wife, Julia; a son, Earl; a daughter, Susan Levy; a sister, Catherine Sikevitz; and 11 grandchildren. A service was held Tuesday.
