Corinne Jacobson, 49, of Warrenville, an artist who channeled her creativity into a career as a youth services librarian, died Friday in Central DuPage Hospital, Winfield, from complications of colon cancer. Mrs. Jacobson grew up in Evanston. She earned a bachelor’s degree in fine arts from the Chicago Academy of Fine Arts and a master’s degree in library sciences from Dominican University. Her last library job was as youth services department head at Bellwood Public Library last year. She continued working through much of her illness, which was diagnosed six years ago, said her husband, Paul Jacobson, an editorial assistant at the Tribune. Four years ago, Mrs. Jacobson agreed to participate in an experimental drug program at the National Cancer Institute in Bethesda, Md., as part of an effort to find more effective treatments for colon cancer.
