Kenny Brack, gambling that he had enough fuel in a four-car dash to the finish, won the Indy Racing League’s Radisson 200 at Pikes Peak International Raceway in Fountain, Colo.

The 32-year-old Swede posted his second straight IRL circuit victory. He stayed on the track for the final laps after leader Robbie Buhl pitted for a splash of fuel on the 196th lap of the 200-lap event on the mile oval.

Defending champion Tony Stewart, running a close third near the end, also made a quick pit stop, and pole-sitter Billy Boat, in fourth place, ran out of fuel on the track.

“I ran out of fuel in Turn 4 and coasted all the way in,” said Brack, who won the IRL’s last event at Concord, N.C., on July 25. “My engine wasn’t running when I crossed the line.”

In the IRL season standings, Stewart earned 36 points to move past Scott Sharp into first place with 242 points. Brack has 232, one behind Sharp.

– Michael Schumacher won the Hungarian Grand Prix in Budapest to gain ground in the Formula One championship. Schumacher earned 10 points and is within seven of series leader Mika Hakkinen, who had one point for finishing sixth.
