A 49-year-old Country Club Hills man was charged Thursday with sexually abusing a 16-year-old boy who worked as his subordinate in an Orland Park restaurant.
Ronald M. Shirley of 4136 W. 191st Pl. surrendered to Orland Park police Thursday after a weeklong investigation into allegations by the teen that Shirley made improper sexual advances toward him over eight months.
Shirley was charged with two counts of aggravated criminal sexual abuse and solicitation of a sexual act. He was released after posting 10 percent of a $10,000 bond set by Cook County Circuit Judge Sandy Johnson-Speh in the Bridgeview courthouse.
Shirley was a manager at the restaurant. Police Cmdr. Walter Kaszubski would not identify the restaurant or the town in which the boy resides.
The boy and his parents informed police a week ago about the alleged incidents in the restaurant. Neither the boy nor the defendant is still employed there, Kaszubski said.
Shirley’s next court appearance is slated for Sept. 15.
