James Michael Gleason, 55, of Hoffman Estates died Friday in Hoffman Estates Medical Center. His wife of 28 years, Shirley, said her husband was a deeply religious person. “He was a very loyal friend and a tremendous family man,” she said. Mr. Gleason was the president and owner of WG Controls in Arlington Heights. He was born in Chicago and grew up in Evergreen Park. An Army veteran, he served in the Vietnam War. Mr. Gleason lived in Hoffman Estates for 27 years. He was a volunteer at Willow Creek Community Church in South Barrington, dedicating time to numerous ministries both locally and abroad. Other survivors include a son, Jim; a daughter, Sara; his mother, Mary Hughes Gleason: two brothers, Steve and Dennis; and two sisters, Mary Lynn Andrews and Virginia Ertle. Services will be held at 10 a.m. Monday in Willow Creek Community Church Chapel, 67 E. Algonquin Rd., South Barrington.
