Monday, Labor Day, is a federal holiday. The following public services are affected:

– Government offices: Federal, state, county and city offices will be closed Monday, except for emergency services such as the Cook County sheriff’s office.

– Postal service: Mail will not be delivered Monday.

– Schools: All public schools and Roman Catholic Archdiocese schools will be closed Monday.

– Courts: Federal courts and Cook County Circuit Courts, including Criminal Courts, will be closed. Holiday Court, however, will be in session Monday.

– Banks: Most Chicago-area banks will be closed.

– Parking: Meters in Chicago will not have to be fed Monday.

– Transit: Metra. Pace and the CTA will operate on holiday schedules.
