Eugene M. Beck, 69, of Glen Ellyn died Wednesday in GlenOaks Medical Center in Glendale Heights. Born in Lake City, Minn., Mr. Beck was a police officer in Glen Ellyn for 24 years before retiring in 1978. After his retirement, Mr. Beck did electrical repairs and plowed snow. He served in the U.S. Marines and stationed at Pearl Harbor, Hawaii, from 1946 to 1949. Survivors include his wife, Mildred E.; three sons, Steven, James and Jeffrey; a brother, Bill; two sisters, Geri Dicks and Phyllis Cummins; and a grandchild. Visitation will be from 1 p.m. Saturday until the 3 p.m. services in the funeral home.
