The Moraine Valley Community College board voted this week to seek a $423,400 technology grant.

The Illinois Community College Board grant would allow for the standardization of all campus computer networks and the upgrade of the cable infrastructure.

Without the upgrade, instruction in areas such as data imaging would not be possible, said Patricia Bauhs, vice president for institutional advancement.

The college’s administrative network would be modernized with the grant, which would cover the cost of the project.
