Richard A. Slinde, 71, of Woodstock died Tuesday in Sherman Hospital in Elgin. He served in the Army during World War II. He retired from Woodstock Die Casting Co. in 1979 with more than 25 years of service. Survivors include his wife, Loraine; four daughters, Susan McClune, Camilla Suchyta, Chris Loomis and Sally Hoelterhoff; a brother, Harold; and five grandchildren. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday in Schneider-Leucht-Merwin and Cooney Funeral Home, 1211 N. Seminary Ave., Woodstock. Services will begin at 7 p.m. in the funeral home.
