Benjamin Riga, 63, of Mt. Prospect died Saturday in Hoffman Estates Medical Center. Mr. Riga, who was born in Brooklyn, N.Y., retired in 1990 as a receiving manager at Steiner Electric Co., Elk Grove Village. He worked at the company, which distributes electrical supplies, for 25 years. “He was a wonderful employee,” said Ted Mussatti, director of human resources at Steiner. “He was highly regarded. Everyone I asked thought the world of him.” “He was a good man, a gentle, caring man,” said his son Bill Riga. Other survivors include his wife, Gloria; a son, James; two daughters, Gloria Wayer and Karen Banakis; and seven grandchildren. Visitation will be from 3 to 9 p.m. Tuesday in Friedrichs Funeral Home, 320 W. Central Rd., Mt. Prospect. A mass will be said at 10 a.m. Wednesday in St. Cecilia Catholic Church, Golf and Meier Roads, Mt. Prospect.
