Over the years, I have wondered about the Bears. Here are a few observations:
– Michael McCaskey promised Bears fans a “competitive” team but never mentioned that he took his definition of “competitive” from the same dictionary used by President Clinton to define “sex.”
– Because McCaskey’s management decisions have killed the Bears while he’s been in charge, shouldn’t his last name be “McCasket”?
– Considering how the McCaskeys plan to hold on to the Bears until the return of Christ, would it be too much to ask God to speed up His plans?
– If McCaskey really has the highest regard for Dave Wannstedt as a coach, why did he fire him and not himself?
– McCaskey will never get a new stadium. If the Bears stink, who needs one? If the Bears improve, who wants a stadium and traffic jams in their suburban back yard?
– McCaskey said that it was a “tough” decision to fire a coach with one of the worse records in the history of the Bears. I suspect that he really meant to say “overdue.”
– Dave Wannstedt said that his firing was not the end of the road for him in football. Was that a promise or a threat?
