The Internet hasn’t replaced the book version of “Joy of Cooking” yet, but more and more people are discovering the convenience of retrieving recipes on-line. Thousands of food-related sites dish up a variety of meal suggestions, with new ones popping up daily. Here are five of our favorite sites.

– Slim noodles: The Italian ambassadors at the National Pasta Association’s page feature a potpourri of low-fat and pasta dishes, both hot and cold. Among the offerings are spaghetti with bloody Mary sauce, fajita-style orzo and quick chili pasta. The slimmed-down recipes are found at www.ilovepasta.org/lowfat.html.

– Here comes the fudge: Crazy Mamie Eisenhower Fudge is one of many “kooky” fudge offerings at Skaarup’s Fudge page. Other recipes include Key lime fudge, Kool-Aid fudge, easy vegan fudge and other more mainstream chocolate offerings at homepages .skylink.net/ skaarup/fudge.html.

– Vary your meat: For a change in beef, try the “101 Ways to Make Burgers” site, which shows the way to make Louisiana-style spicy blackened burgers, German kraut burgers, baked beer burgers and 98 other meat suggestions. They’re at soar.berkeley.edu/recipes/burgers/indexall.html.

– A twosome’s treats: Ben and Jerry let down their hair and open up their recipe boxes at www.benjerry.com/wbvrecipes/index.html. The ice-cream entrepreneurs share their krazy pie, ice cream cookie crunch roll, vanilla berry shortcake and other treats that call for Ben and Jerry’s in the mix.

– Proud pecans: Judges at the Texas Pecan Growers Association baking contest handed gold medals to the bakers of pecan crunch fudge and lemonade nut bread. These award-winning recipes, along with others, are found at www.texaspecans.com/recipes.htm.
