I read Harold Plucienik’s letter about comic strips (Feb. 24). I’ve been enjoying them for 10 years longer than he — for about 55 years. I sometimes like “Dilbert,” sometimes it’s stupid, especially when Catbert is featured.

Plucienik doesn’t like the continuing storylines, while I think they’re the most interesting (although “Dick Tracy” has had some dumb stories lately). I miss the “Phantom,” “Spiderman,” “Winnie Winkle” — you had canceled them in midstory. I don’t like some of the inane new strips that are supposed to be funny. Like Plucienik, I do not like “Doonesbury” and do not even read it. Please don’t cancel the continuing storyline cartoons, even “Dick Tracy.”

I love the comics. On Sundays, I try to read them last — like dessert and as a reward for getting through the rest of the paper!
