Thelma Bashor, 84, of Columbus, Ohio, mother of Tribune associate foreign/national editor Richard Bashor, died Friday of heart failure in a Columbus hospital. Mrs. Bashor was born and raised in Columbus. She dedicated her time to helping others, volunteering at her church–Broad Street Presbyterian Church. She reached out to others in need. When she discovered two women who were blind and on their own, she made it part of her week to take them out to lunch and make sure they got out of the house. “She was always worrying about other people,” said her husband of 56 years, Robert Bashor. Other survivors include a daughter, Janet Price, and three grandchildren. Visitation will be from 3 to 6 p.m. Sunday in Schoedinger Mid-town Chapel, 229 E. State St., Columbus. Services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday in the funeral home.
