Well here we go again. There’s a ghastly murder in the suburbs and a neighbor is quoted as saying that “big city problems” have come to their idyllic suburb (Page 1, March 8).

We don’t know why Mrs. Lemak allegedly killed her children, but we are told that she suffered from post-partum depression after the birth of her third child, and was going thorough a divorce. I don’t think “big city” moms have a monopoly on those things. (Maybe the reverse is true.)

Murder–child murder–isn’t a city thing. Maybe once we see that we’ll all be on the lookout (and the help-out) for the Lemaks in our lives.
