The Fox River Grove Public Works Committee told developer John DiSalvo to make a presentation to the Village Board for annexation of his multifamily apartment building on Algonquin Road.

But another part of DiSalvo’s plan is not likely to fly. After DiSalvo left the meeting room, committee members indicated that they oppose expansion of the building.

“We can help him out with the existing four units with annexation and sewage hookup, but there can be no more units on the property,” Village President Stephen Tasch said.

Because the DiSalvo property backs up to Barrington Hills and the back of the apartment building would be in full view of several large homes, Trustee Mary Murren said expansion likely would bring strong objections from the neighboring village.

“I don’t want to do that to Barrington Hills,” Murren said.
