The East Dundee Village Board has voted 6-1 to approve the final site plan for a 90-unit condominium project for seniors at 605 Barrington Rd., a mile east of Illinois Highway 25.

Village Trustee Robert Szalla cast the sole dissenting vote, saying the 3-story building would be an eyesore in an area of single-family homes.

Windsor Development Corp., Elgin, plans to break ground in April and take first occupancies in November, according to Stanley Sumner, a spokesman for the developer.

The condominiums, to be built between the Dundee Township Library and Dundee Township Park District headquarters, would be priced from $120,000 to $150,000.
